How many words do you know that can be used to express anger? When we teach our children vocabulary to describe the various intensities of anger, they can more accurately articulate their emotions. This can help us better understand their feelings. We can then guide children to choose an appropriate problem solving solution to help them return to calm. It's a good idea for parents to model using these words to describe their own emotions when appropriate - that's how children learn!
