New client?
** May 2022 - We are currently experiencing unprecedented demand for psychology support in our Belmont rooms, please be aware that the current wait time for an initial appointment is upwards of six months.
Are we the right practice for you?
Our current team consists of Psychologists, Mental Heath Clinicians and Dietitians.
Psychology is a complex and diverse area with many sub-areas. Although we wish we could cater for all presentations, unfortunately the services we offer depends on the training and professional experience of our current team members.
Our current mental health team primarily support children, teens and adults with:
- anxiety
- depression
- stress
- emotion dysregulation (such as anger)
At this point in time we cannot accept referrals for eating disorders, complex issues arising from family separation and/or violence, court and forensic issues.
Fees
Our fees are between $145 and $275 per appointment depending on the clinician, which is in most cases lower than the private practice fee recommended by the Australian Psychology Society.
Rebates only cover part of the fee so there will be out-of-pocket expenses for all appointments.
Please note:
- Medicare rebates are available for many services if you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan or Chronic Disease Management Plan.
- Medicare rebates only cover part of the fee so there will be out-of-pocket expenses for all appointments.
- Out-of-pocket costs are between $130-$170 per appointment.
Consent for services
Our experience tells us that we have better outcomes for child clients when we have consent from both parents. For this reason, although either parent can initiate booking a session for their child, we will seek the consent of the second parent before commencing with the child for therapeutic or assessment services. If we do not have consent form the second parent we may not be able to proceed with the service.
Require an assessment?
The Hopscotch & Harmony Assessment Clinic provides a range of assessments for children and adults
Our team members undertake a range of assessments to help identify ones strengths and areas requiring support. We also provide diagnostic assessments to identify Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability, Learning difficulties and Giftedness.
Fees vary depending on what assessment is required. Medicare only offers rebates for Autism and ADHD assessments with a valid paediatrician or child psychiatrist referral (around $170 is rebated).
There are no Medicare rebates for cognitive and educational assessments.
Unfortunately, NDIS funding cannot be used for diagnostic assessments.
