The Hopscotch Assessment Clinic conducts psychological assessments including:
Fees vary depending on what assessment is required and range between $1390 for a standard cognitive assessment to $3870 for a comprehensive ADHD, Autism and Educational Assessment.
Medicare only offers rebates for Autism assessments with a valid paediatrician or child psychiatrist referral (around $180 is rebated). There are no Medicare rebates for other assessments.
Please note that these fees are only a guide as your assessing clinician will make a recommendation of what assessment will best meet your needs and discuss the associated fees with you in your first appointment.
Please bring any school reports, learning plans, work samples and evidence of the targeted interventions to your initial consultation – these are a helpful part of the assessment process.

Cognitive Assessments
Cognitive (or intelligence) assessments examine general thinking and reasoning abilities, rather than grade-level knowledge. The are three assessments offered at Hopscotch & Harmony are the most current versions and are recognised by the Department of Education for funding applications. Autism Assessment
The aim of this assessment is to determine whether an individual meets DSM-5 criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder and to provide information about their presentation and support needs. The diagnostic process includes a 2-hour parent/carer interview, an observational assessment of social and communication skills as well as restricted and repetitive interests and stereotyped patterns of behaviour (which may include the ADOS and/or a cognitive assessment). Rating scales for parents (and teachers where relevant) will also be administered.

Behaviour Assessments
We offer a range of behavioural assessments to help understand young people better and to recommend appropriate interventions or further, more comprehensive, assessment. We use the BASC, Connors, Vineland, CBCL as needed, depending on the referral questions.
Intellectual Disability Assessment
This assessment includes a cognitive assessment (WPPSI, WISC or WAIS) as well as a Vineland-3 completed by a teacher and/or parent in order to meet DSM-V criteria.
