Hello! I am Amani, a Psychologist who is passionate in supporting the mental wellbeing and developmental needs of children, adolescents and their families.
I have worked across school and clinic settings, empowering young individuals to find the best version of themselves through counselling and assessment. As such, I have experience in addressing concerns related to anxiety, low mood, anger, self-esteem, social skills, learning difficulties, and parenting. |
I am a big believer of using approaches that are:
My approach is multi-modal, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Play Therapy, Mindfulness and Attachment Theory.
I also try to work systemically, such as recommending routines and practices across home and school. This is in recognition of our nature as human beings (and community members) to rely on external resources, just as we rely on ourselves, to thrive.
In my free time, I enjoy practising my piano, reading stories, drawing digital art, playing video games, cooking, and having a good laugh (and cry) with my beloved friends and family.
I look forward to being part of your wellbeing journey.
- Client-centred (You are the captain of your ship, and I am here to sail with you.)
- Collaborative (We are a team, so your feedback is valuable to me.)
- Strengths-focused (I am keen to learn what inner resources have led you this far and how they can be used to maximise your potential.)
- Playful (Working on your wellbeing can be fun!)
- Neurodiversity affirming (I recognise that Autism, ADHD, Language Disorder and Learning Disability brains are wired differently, and part of my job is to find ways you learn and grow best.)
