When it comes to seeking help for our mental health, or that of our children, taking action can be one of the most challenging things to do. At times, it can feel almost impossible, and can take a lot of courage and strength to seek help because we have no idea what to expect.
My aim is to provide a safe and judgement-free environment for all my clients, where we can work together to help you learn healthy ways of dealing with mental and emotional difficulties.
I enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds, but I am particularly interested in working with children and adolescents. My warm, relaxed, and positive approach and personality helps me to build strong relationships with young people in a short space of time.
When working with young people my focus is on establishing rapport and trust from the outset of our time together, which helps them to feel heard and understood. Throughout my counselling work, I have achieved this through active listening, using empathy, as well as taking a non-judgemental and non-blaming stance.
I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults, from various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds in a wide range of areas including depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship difficulties, and stress, just to name a few.
I like to utilise a carefully selected integrative approach to therapy in order to suit all client needs. I particularly like to take a strength-based approach but also drawing upon other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Positive Psychology.
