Ten to Teens Tech Club

Where curious and creative minds come together to explore their tech passion!
Ages 10-16

Each week students will be encouraged to explore their tech interests under the guidance of EdTech Coach and registered teacher, Phill Cantone.

This is a deliberately unstructured bring your own device (BYOD) program for students who wish to pursue their individual interests in a safe and encouraging environment.

Students can work on CODING, ROBOTICS, DIGITAL ART, 3D DESIGN, GAME DESIGN or a similar interest.

The relaxed nature of the group sessions will enable and encourage students to discuss and share their projects with each other.

This group is best suited to kids aged 10 to 16 who are passionate about tech, self-starters, show initiative, can focus attention on their tech projects and just want a space to geek out with new friends!

    Prerequisite skills
I agree that my child meets the following prerequisite conditions for group program entry:
    • Able to attend to group instruction with minimal prompting
    • Basic awareness of social behaviors
    • No major risk of harm to self or others
    • Desire to improve/willingness to try and participate

    Participation
I understand that Hopscotch & Harmony reserves the right to withdraw a student for aggressive or self-injurious behavior, if they are unwilling to participate, or if they are being caused undue distress. I also understand that I have the right to withdraw my child from the Hopscotch & Harmony group program at any time.

    Medical Attention
I am aware that medication is not to be left with my child. Any medication a child is currently prescribed must be handed to the group facilitator, with written instruction for administration, prior to the group commencing.

I understand that group facilitators reserve the right to secure ambulance transportation for my child for emergency medical or dental care, or to the most readily available source of assistance. I understand that the parent/guardian is liable for any cost incurred.

    Collection of students
I understand that if I should not arrive to pick up my child, Hopscotch & Harmony will not allow unauthorised collection of children. Written authorisation signed by the relevant parent is required before children will be permitted to leave with a person other than either parent/carer.

I understand that if an unauthorised person arrives to pick up the child, group facilitators will not physically intervene. The emergency contact and police will be contacted.

Hopscotch & Harmony staff will not put themselves, other personnel, parents or any child in danger by attempting to physically prevent an intoxicated or drug affected person from collecting a child. If a visibly affected person arrives to collect a child and facilitators are aware that the person will be driving, group facilitators reserve the right to call the nominated emergency contact and/or a taxi to transport children. If the parent/carer does not accept this, the emergency contact and police will immediately be contacted.
