"I am dedicated to providing individualised and comprehensive psychological care to children and adults in an ethical, engaging and collaborative manner. I am available to provide therapy and assessment services to assist you and/or your child with promoting academic and socio-emotional learning and growth.
I previously worked in the education, private and community sectors. In these settings, I helped children and adults manage issues involving anxiety, depression, challenging behaviours, emotional regulation, social difficulties and trauma resulting from family violence. I draw from the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy, client-centred therapy and play therapy to guide my therapeutic practice.
In addition, I have experience with conducting cognitive, educational and behavioural assessments to identify possible learning and behavioural difficulties. From these assessments, I make practical recommendations to help clients manage and thrive in their everyday lives.
I understand how daunting it may be to seek psychological support, so I strive to make this experience easier by being warm, transparent and dependable. I believe it is essential for clients to feel heard and validated. Accordingly, I aim to create a safe and welcoming therapeutic space where clients can freely discuss and reflect on their situation without feeling judged or shamed. I also work with clients to help them develop skills and strategies in order to foster resilience and manage their difficulties. Sessions are generally tailored to complement clients’ strengths, resources, personalities and feedback.
I greatly value having strong, collaborative professional relationships with clients and those involved in their wellbeing (e.g., teachers, GPs), particularly since this is an important element to promoting positive outcomes and changes in therapy. I believe this sentiment is especially true for child clients since it takes a village to raise a child. Consequently, when working with children, I endeavour to have regular consultations with parents to develop strategies that encourage learning and growth beyond the therapy room."
