"I help parents who are stuck on what to do when they experience challenging issues in their family. I work to support your child by putting myself in their shoes to understand what is really going on to get to the bottom of the underlying cause of presenting challenges. This is initiated by firstly establishing a solid therapeutic working relationship. Treatment goals are formulated together in consultation with the parent and also child.
I will listen to and work with your child by developing creative and engaging ways to help them work through their issue and empower them with practical skills, knowledge and strategies that they could use to work through their concerns during the sessions as well as outside of the sessions. I can also assist parents by providing them with some of their own strategies that they could help assist their children to maintain the progress being made.
My experience stems from working in a wide range of schools from Primary schools to Secondary schools delivering psychological services, primarily counselling. I have a grounding in using cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness.
I have helped children and young people presenting with anxiety, stress, difficulties with emotional regulation, behavioural concerns such as anger, autism, ADD, ADHD and issues relating to friendships and bullying."
