LEGO Social Skills groups
Our LEGO Social Skills groups incorporate evidence-based therapy that helps children learn social skills.
Who is it suitable for?
This is a program for children aged 5-12 (approx) who have challenges making friends, picking up on social cues, controlling play and understanding that others may have a different perspective from their own.
As the children build Lego models they are coached in the necessary communication and social skills including how to problem solve when difficulties arise.
Before entry into the group, a program psychologist will speak to the parent/caregiver to ensure the child is a good fit. An initial assessment of the child may be necessary.
What does the program aim to improve?
What happens in a session?
There are six children in a group with two psychologists.
