"As a psychologist, one of the most important things for me is to build a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients, which makes a strong foundation for efficient therapy. Therapy goals are drawn up in collaboration with clients and parents in session. I believe there is no one-size-fits all and adopt a strength-based and eclectic approach in therapy to suit the individual needs of clients I work with.
I am experienced in a range of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness techniques and Integrative Play Therapy. I am passionate about supporting clients to recognise their strengths, overcome barriers and to build a meaningful life that they value.
I have a particular interest with working with neurodiverse individuals in therapy and also in conducting diagnostic assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. I am experienced in conducting psycho-educational assessments for individuals with learning difficulties to identify clients’ unique strengths, as well as areas in need of support. Moreover, my multilingualism (English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Malay language and Japanese) and multicultural awareness allows me to offer culturally sensitive support to my clients from diverse cultures. Before becoming a psychologist, I worked as an early childhood teacher registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching."
