In my sessions I work hard to build strong rapport so that both you and your child feel comfortable to talk about things that may be challenging or uncomfortable. I bring passion and enthusiasm to my work and love to help children, adolescents and parents achieve increased wellbeing and successful outcomes both at home and school.
I work with a range of issues including anxiety, emotional dysregulation, behavioural difficulties, social skills deficits, those struggling with an eating disorder, body image concerns, ADHD and Autism. My approach to therapy is a strengths-based approach. I am respectful and empathic in sessions and work collaboratively with parents and children to; clarify individual therapy goals, enhance helpful coping strategies and identify opportunities for change, growth, and self-understanding. I am also trained as an Animal Assisted Therapist and have a Cavoodle and Groodle named Teddy and Phoebe. Both dogs are usually involved in all of my sessions however, I am also able to have sessions without the therapy dogs present. When I'm not at work you'll find me and the dogs at the beach. I love spending as much time as I can outdoors or with a coffee relaxing on the couch. |
