Sometimes taking that first step into therapy can be the hardest part of your healing journey. It can take a lot of courage to share our feelings and thoughts with a new person. I believe though, that this courage can be the key to healing and in the right space, this is how we can work together to help create meaningful change in your life so that you can begin to feel better.
Therefore, I believe the most important thing we can do in therapy, is to ensure you feel safe and comfortable whenever you walk through my door. My therapy is consistently warm and empathic (and sometimes fun!) and I look forward to working collaboratively with you to ensure you get the most out of our time together. |
I am passionate about helping families foster positive early childhood experiences and work in this space with an attachment focus as I believe strong early relationships are a good foundation for success across the lifespan. I also love to work with adolescents to develop strong self-awareness, self-compassion, self-efficacy and self-esteem to help them confidently navigate the challenges they may be facing at school, at home or within their social groups. I have four year’s clinical experience working with children and young people experiencing a range of issues including anxiety, school refusal, parental separation, friendship difficulties, emotion regulation difficulties and low self-esteem.
During my training I have developed skills in a range of therapies including CBT, ACT and Schema or DBT informed therapies and will collaborate with you to choose what feels right for you. I am also experienced in conducting academic and cognitive assessments.
When I am not at work, I can be found happily in my vegetable patch, with my children at the beach or camping somewhere in this beautiful state we live in. I love to do basically anything that involves being outside! I am proud to be part of the Hopscotch and Harmony team and look forward to meeting you.”
